They began working on putting a slate together after RM slate fell apart as well. So what happened? The BUS was put together in a hasty manner to oppose Blue Skies. Then they basically just tried running a smear campaign, with no real plan together on how to actually unite and lead the pilot group. From the get-go all they've done is talked about election interference, and how they're already putting certain things together to make the case the election was influenced by management and possible ALPA supporters.
They're most recent video messages have had a change of tone, trying to seem that they are just like Blue Skies in certain ways. Based on the overall chatter in many bases it does seem that Blue Skies has overwhelming support, the pilots have recognized their professionalism, engagement, and deciding not to participate in mud slinging. Also look forward to a landslide win from Blue Skies. It's time this pilot group gets actually represented, their voices heard, and not being told to just "unite" behind the leaderships own agenda.
It will be interesting to see how fast some of you turn on Blue Skies when they to find out that they are dealing with a company that has no intention of dealing with this union or pilot group. This has been true since appag days. The company will either get their way from the new slate whoever wins or they will make them the next unreasonable, unprepared, in the way group. Then time and time again a small loud group of pilots turn against their fellow pilots and take sides with the company and undermine any unity that would eventually force the Company to actually sit down and make a deal with the pilots. At this point we are more likely going to get the contract that they company want not a contract that we deserve. I would hope we as a group would vote that down, but with so many that this is just a stepping stone to skip the RJ's and fly mainline AC on their way to a mainline airline, they will likely vote for whatever comes across even if its garbage. What is more sad is the loud minority will likely do the same, giving up once again work rules, retirement, just for the quick hit of more money.
