Personally, I think that once you held something with your seniority, it's yours. Fly it, trade it, drop it, call in sick for it. It's not anyone's business what you do with it.
Trading vacation is wild. Hawaiian way is drop it and someone else can pick it up. Unless it’s summer/christmas then it gets bid on again.
