There is no provision for getting a futher out GS with a closer in SC/rotation assignment. There are only 2 things guaranteed:
1. You can get a same day GS even if you have a next day or second day assignment already on your schedule
2. You can get a next day GS even if you already have a second day assignment already on your schedule.
You cannot get a GS that conflicts with an assignment on the same day. SRH page 49 spells out what I just typed out.
