Both can be true. I don't want to and I am thorough with my prep. I don't see a need to add tasks to the list. I do and have done walkarounds but have also been bit by issues when returning to the flight deck that could have been addressed earlier. I'm generally one of those "sunny and 70" captains unless we just finished a long leg and I want to move around. I'm just arguing the other side because I can tell you want to argue.
what does getting “bit” look like? a few minutes of delay once every few years?
this is reminding me of the guy i flew with that wouldn’t let the ground crew disconnect until the engines were running because he lost a generator once decades prior.
