If a pilot decides they don’t want that vacation then everyone junior to that pilot gets to bid on it again. Seems perfectly reasonable and eliminates any possibility of nefarious vacation trading. Just because you and your buddies don’t do it or heard of it doesn’t mean it’s not an issue. Why should the junior person be able to get Christmas vacation through a trade? Vacation should be use it or let others have it. Not something that you can horde and trade away for favors.
