By the way, I have been in the Delta One lounge in JFK. It was excellent. 2030 is very far away. Most airlines(including yours) can’t see that far ahead. Competitive landscape changes constantly as well as the economy. I admit that there are not many cities left that have a high O&D and have the geography for connections that make sense. AUS fits that very well.
Delta One lounge construction for ATL, MSP, SLC, and DTW is confirmed, just not built.
Delta is publicly trying to keep two club spaces. Would two Skyclubs work? I doubt it, most likely a Delta One club to throw D1 pax on future long haul flights whether DL-metal or JV operated.
2030 is unfortunately a very long time a lot is likely bound to happen. But, I wouldn’t discount Delta’s ability to commit to a long-term plan. For better or worse, Delta will leech onto an airport/city for decades even if it’s to lose money to become #1 (NYC, LAX, BOS) or #2 (SEA). I think AUS will be a 40-40-20 split in share unless someone retreats. The lease agreement was signed months ago and is set in stone. The agreement puts Delta and Southwest at similar market share when B goes live. Very interesting years ahead.
