I just listened to the Alaska podcast to get some insight into this bid and it was very insightful. Seems like a lot of things would have to happen for somebody to get displaced from their position if they aren’t LAX or SFO based. It’s not like a Senior SEA FO can just decide they want SEA captain and can bump the Junior SEA captain out of his seat. More Senior LAX and SFO pilots could displace a junior captain. Sh*! Flows down hill, but I don’t think it’s a flash flood in this case.

SEA, ANC, and PDX have no displacements in this bid, so nobody junior can be kicked out of those bases. Awards into those vacancies will have to be senior to the most junior pilot in each seat. This bid will be messy and wild, though, as there is a likelihood that this creates vacancies in all of these bases. For instance, if PDX CAs and FOs bid into SAN, it creates vacancies in PDX for pilots to bid into, even though there are no published vacancies in PDX. Still, though, anyone bidding for either seat in PDX would have to be senior to the most junior pilot in a given seat.
