The lease terms were so awful on the VX airplanes, it was cheaper to just dump them than keep them. That was discussed ad nauseam after SOC for AS/VX and they were trying to figure out how to negotiate the leases down. VX owned a total of 0 airplanes. Hawaiian on the other hand owns their Airbus 321s.
