The lease terms were so awful on the VX airplanes, it was cheaper to just dump them than keep them. Hawaiian on the other hand owns their Airbus 321s.
It's surprising how many people believe the company story - hook, line, and sinker.
As if refinancing wasn't an option. Especially for the A319s, which were quickly turned into aluminum cans.
The removal of the Airbus was a decision in search of a reason. And when it comes time to remove the Hawaiian A321s, I'm sure the "reason" will be just as convincing.
