I seem to remember SD or DM saying that the 330s were way cheaper than management thought they were going to be. I wouldn’t be surprised if they stayed around for quite a while. Especially since they are investing in an interior upgrade.
The real reason they will be staying around is that they can't be replaced by a Boeing in any realistic timeframe. If the 787 didn't have such a backlog, they would be gone fast.
