Have your tried not buying avocado toast? Maybe packing lunch at home? At what point do you adjust your career/retirement expectations to your current reality and readjust your spending and budgeting. Every airline pilot that had gone through this is still putting more money in the bank than the average American.

Can you afford the lifestyle of a 35+ mainline career with no setbacks? Probably not.

Can you afford a more modest life in retirement? Absolutely.

Y'all love to crap on entitled young people but the absolute kings of entitlement are pilots that think they "deserve" a specific amount of money to afford a certain level of lifestyle just because. Don't tell junior "life's not fair, deal with it" if you're not ready to be in the receiving end.
