You were at a regional. Not a legacy. You were probably pretty young and had no family either. What he's talking about here is folks at destination airlines that got throttled. That had a family, mortgage, bills. Got the rug pulled and then it took some time to crawl back out. Some in that time their spouses left them. Had several friends lose their spouses due to being furloughed. Cruel. But that's life.
Until you've been there, you really can't speak to it.
Then again there's the legacy folks with the main house, the lake house and the condo in Park City. The RV-7, the 38 ft boat on the lake etc etc etc.

No. You don't have any idea what me and mine went through in between 01-09. Suffice it to say, what even the worst legacy pilots went through would have been a gravy train to mine. It's unfortunate what happened to legacy pilots during the Great reset but it absolutely could have been substantially worse.
