Thats nuts and shouldn’t be allowed. The fake grievance of being passed over (for likely something that wouldn’t have been picked up anyway) should only happen once per footprint.
If one is claiming they were wrongfully passed up and get paid for a trip they didn’t do, they should be locked out over that footprint (or longer if more wouldn’t be legal) and someone else should get the money for nothing. It’s asinine that someone would get protected 7 trips in a day when they only could have flown one. That needs to be fixed asap.
Some of these grifts need to be sold back to the company for full value. This one needs a LOA right now in exchange for nothing.
Believe it or not, there are some pilots that claim doing as you propose is “screwing your fellow pilots”. What is lost on these people if that the company’s gross 23M7 use has exposed a small corner of our contract where no leveling , or really common sense mechanism exist to prevent a grossly out of balance pay scheme.
