A lot of pilots in Boston are at B6 because of Boston. They live locally and don't want to deal with a commute to JFK or elsewhere. Delta opening a base there that is similar in size to the B6 base would give a lot of guys reason to try and jump ship. If they were to put a NB base and keep the WB base there as well, that opens up opportunity for movement and career advancement.
