An additional problem is where the 23M7 payments go. If they are following the PWA any WS payments go toward the max pickup limit. After a pilot reaches that limit the next pilot gets the payment. If this is done correctly more pilots would get 23M7 payments.
For now the solution is for everyone to farm WSs. This will result in peoples schedules filling up quicker and the payments moving to the next senior. If the payments are not assigned correctly future investigation will result in a redistribution and more money will come further down the list. GS farming is a different story which is why WS farming is effective to drive payments further down the list. Everyone in my opinion should be WS farming at this point. You have a chance at getting payments in the future that were misapplied. And are more likely to get a WS payment than a GS payment which are identical in value. 1X and no flying obligation.
23.M.7 is not a legitimate way of covering trips. It’s a contractual loophole. I put it on the same level as if every single pilot used every single hour of sick leave every single year. Is it contractually compliant? Yes, but that doesn’t make it right. Now that lookback is gone, why not? It’s in the contract. See. We can exploit loopholes too. Doubt we would ever do that because we actually have integrity as a group.
