It is almost like pilots deliberately taxiing at 5 knots max—“for safety you know, and how dare you question my taxi speed”—and somehow getting paid bonus pay as a result.

Look at the 23.M.7 logs for some of the narrowbody categories. You’ll see a lot of the same names. You may even pretend that they are “harmed” pilots. I do not.

I personally am unaffected by most of this. My category (WBA) by its very nature doesn’t have as much of all this going on, although I was woken up the other day at 0330 by an IA call. I don’t think it unreasonable that many are upset, who used to consistently get a GS via the PWA process that worked fairly well for years, who now no longer can.

But hey, at least the “harmed” pilots are all getting paid a lot to do very little. That’s what the labor movement is all about, right?
For every pilot whose name is listed repeatedly in the 23M7 logs, there are 100 other pilots trying to be him/her with the same slip configuration.

The names that you see repeatedly are the ones who happen to be the most senior of that large group, AND in the right place at the right time. They literally have no control over how many times they appear relative to everyone else.

Direct your hate at the game, not the player. Better yet, direct your hate at management for all the times they’ve taken advantage of loopholes, and be glad that pilots have won a single battle for once.
