By the way, contrary to someone's misread of an earlier post of mine, this whole mess hardly affects me. A330A, getting on in years, I just flew my first GS of the year (I average one a year) and am pretty well paid for flying a normal schedule. I've flown one IA ever, and that was about five years ago.

MY flying life is good, but I am both in a category and career stage where all this stuff doesn't relate much. However I am a big proponent of the letter and spirit of organized labor and our PWA. I don't like seeing guys who are volunteering to help the company out, anticipating premium pay as the quid pro quo, and not getting it--like they used to--for all sorts of not-great reasons.

Obviously we have some leverage (the amount is debatable) and I am not saying we should just give things away for free. However, there are those who reasonably believe that the entire Auto Accept leading to mass IAs is itself an anti-spirit-of-the-PWA concession of sorts.

I'd like to see all this resolved so that pilots aren't bitter between themselves.
I'm saying deal with it, as we all must. This is not of our making and I'm not willing to squander the cost leverage for no gain and a drawn out negotiation. This situation being in place for section 6 will shorten the timeline. If your dog isn't in the fight then your not affected as you said. The negotiation will happen in section 6 and the solution will be forthcoming.
