No one does.. It was extremely sudden and seems to be that he was FIRED and not just resigned. He never sent a memo or message about it.
the last airlines confidential podcast has a 10 min section at the beginning about Spirit and Frontier, Scott seems to be thinking that Frontier let BB go to appease stakeholders in a potential merger since losses over numerous years clearly isn't sustainable. Points that Spirit + Frontier is still likely, and that there is a high chance that Dave Davis (current CEO of spirit) will take over the combined company due to his track record at previous airlines and for what it is worth, in Spirit's position, he has done a good job steering the ship, even if it is sinking right now.
It is a good listen for 10 mins to see some more ideas from a management side.
