And no, if you need to grab food, it's no big deal. However, as mentioned above, don't assume the DH will leave without you.
Wasn't it back in the pre merger days that NWA had a crew on a turn in LAS, in a sorta protest for lack of food, take a cab, have a meal and then return to airport to fly causing a significant delay.
