Hired at 35 a person would have 30 years. 15 as FO and 15 as CA would be a good career. Standard progression would give consistent raises each year and equipment bumps every few years. That's how I looked at it back in the dark ages. My timing wasn't great but I can't imaging it's BAD for for anyone coming here.
