Yes, some people got lucky. It's an aberration. The last time it happened was in the 1960's when United hired private pilots.

And some people spent the 1990's flight instructing because they couldn't afford to spend $12,000 to buy a $12,000/yr job flying a clapped out Beech 1900.

And some people spent the 2000's making poverty wages in the right seat of an RJ.

And some people spent the 2000's flying in the sandbox.

And some people were furloughed for 5+ years and lost everything.

You sound like someone who complained about having to obtain an ATP to land a job as an airline pilot.

Buy some perspective. And please work somewhere else.
