Loved my time on the Dog. And you def needed both hands to start those JT8's. Fangs, you didn't like the cable connected bleed levers? What about the ole dial-a-flap? I loved the old DC-3 era knob levers on it too. A very cool airplane and had features on it back in the day not many airliners had.
I miss the smoke and noise when those things were taking off. Yes, waxing nostalgic here. Plenty of things to hate about that airplane (steel brakes, bucket reversers etc) but it was a pilots airplane and it never let me down.
