When I did the same type of flying the company gave us android phones that worked world wide, as I don’t want to carry two phone I just set the thing to forward to my personal phone and it remained off and in some pocket of my flight bag for ages.

If you’re flying international you probably already have T-Mobile or Google Fi on your personal device anyways
