A jumpseater up front while there are seat seats in the back is just asinine . Other airlines require the JS to sit in the back when there are open seats . To me, it is almost a safety issue that needs to be addressed with the FAA. Making someone sit up front is pure crazy .

Im pretty sure OAL cannot sit upfront if there are seats in the back.
this is one of those policies no one is going to follow and there will be 10 different ways to get a seat and there will be a lot of infighting amongst work groups.
Almost like the companynis trying to pit pilots against their union and other work groups before a contract negotiation. Weird?
Also heard from a union guy they wanted standard practice and something that makes sense but company wouldnt agree to it.
I said ok then why did we agree? He couldn't give me an answer.
