I completely agree that the cost/benefit would not show value. I also agree that although there have "only been 200" this year, they seem to be on the rise. Rather than go through the expense of developing anti-laser technology, we should spare no expense in making the idiots that got caught misreable. That would be an excellent deterent. Seriously, even though they, and others, were ineffective, they had horrible intent. They did not know that they would be ineffective when they decided to go screw with airliners packed with innocent people and crews. Sometimes I think it is important to punish on intent rather than results. These people had vey bad intentions, they should get hammered hard.
