You are 100% correct about the SY coms. At the all pilot call they hosted earlier in the week, most of the pilots already knew the information thanks to the emails, infographic, videos, and website that were put out in the last couple of weeks.
As others have said, in cases like this where we are a "little" airline dealing with a big event, ALPA national tends to offer us a great deal of assistance with funding and expertise. I've never got the impression that they short-handed us due to our small size, on the contrary, they've always brought their A game, and it would appear that our issues are every bit as important to them as those of the larger carriers. And yes, they have consistently refunded dues when there was a surplus in recent years.
If I understand correctly, ALPA is even looking into legally protecting the G4 retention bonuses should that become an issue, which says a lot.
