The hyperbole of Hawaiian’s financial position needs to stop as well. What’s your point in saying that? Hawaiian had been profitable for many years and only wasn’t recently because of the Japanese economy. It’s not the a pilot’s job to make money. It’s our job to operate safely. There have been plenty of airlines that have had extended stretches of loses and later emerged profitable. Hawaiian was not on the brink of going under.
Hawaiian was a career destination for people who want to live in Honolulu. Alaska maybe is a career destination for people who wanted to live in the PNW or the west coast? There are arguably better airlines to work at that have domiciles in all of your bases.
