Let’s not forget about gate allocation at the mothership. It’s based on seat allocations. Another reason why they decided to purchase HAL with wide bodies being 1/2 of the fleet. They can dump 330’s and now 787’s on gates keep the seat allocations up and fight off DAL for gates. I think you’ll see some Alaska 330’s pop up that operate trunk routes out of Seattle and seasonal transcons where slot restrictions exist on the other side. The 330’s stay through their useful life and then will be replaced by 787’s. HNL 330 pairings will deteriorate to longer multidays.
