When you receive your list of eligible aircraft/base, it's just that, a list. We only find out how many of each when it gets posted by a member of that indoc class (after award) or when ALPA posts it after the ALPA day.

To answer your other question, it is unlikely that an entire class would be one BES (base/equipment/seat), so as to not flood the Training Dept. It's been rumored that pilot hiring/new hire has some flexibility within the pool of unbid seats to help get folks a higher preference.

As Fangs has said countless time, as hiring ramps up, it is much easier to switch bases, even while still in the sim, than it is to switch equipment. My recommendation is favor equipment over base if forced to choose, but also caution to pick something that is a commutable situation if the switch doesn't happen right away.

Good luck!
