Only ones who might object might be the top 100 senior pilots at Mesaba. A Senior CA at NWA told me that he and others tried to do this in 2007 when NWA was buying Mesaba.
Yes I do fly for Delta and the problem is that we have over 7000 pilots while NW has 5000. By adding Mesaba and Compass to the NW pilot's list, that will bring the totals closer together. In any SLI, if a Mesaba or Compass pilot ended up senior to a DL pilot, that would be unacceptable to DALPA. For it to work, No matter how the lists were merged, the Mesaba and Compass guys would have to be stapled to the bottom of the DL/NW merged list. I think that those guys might have a problem with that seeing that they would claim that they should be ratioed in or have DOH. Plus, since they are wholly owned, I think the Comair pilots might try to insert themselves in the process. My personal feeling is to just divest any wholly owned regionals. I'm thinking that Midwest needs to be sold too. Get back to the core business of transporting people and quit contracting it out to the lowest bidder.
