Is this your first airline contract negotiating cycle? It sure sounds like it.
It’s about the majority of our pilot group. Lots of us have taken a six figure paycut over this issue. Yes, it’s about us. Anyone that takes that kind of loss is going to be upset. Why? So some pilots can get paid to do nothing, others can claim they are winning because the company has to call each pilot 12 minutes at a time, and so some extremely junior pilots can get trips at double pay that historically they never would have gotten.

My guess is the coverage ladder just disappears and quick slip becomes the new normal until we get a contract that eliminates AA and OOBWS. I’m fine with that. At least progress is being made.
