This is correct, and as usual, Sailing doesn't tell the whole story. There is the "HR file" and what used to be the "carry over" or "hand over" file. The later is what the various CPOs used to write down in a little book, stick it in the desk drawer to hand over to the next guy that comes in. They liked that idea so much they computerized it, and now it's called the "PIST" for pilot information support tool, or something like that.
If you are going to chase this rabbit, you need to be very, very specific with your request.
And yet it’s so inconsequential and petty that it can’t even see the light of day in an HR file. If management catches a pilot doing something legitimately wrong, they don’t hide it away in a secret file.
“PIST” is reserved for contractually-protected acts that they wish we couldn’t do, as well as useless stats that they can’t actually hold against us.
