This right here. Iran didn’t shut down the SOH, the insurance companies did. Bandar Abbas is basically scrap metal, 90% of their brown water Navy is now sunk, they don’t have the capability to genuinely close the straight, but they can harass some stragglers. And why exactly do you think the insurance companies demanded that?
So if you have to have a navy to stop shipping traffic why don’t you see the Russian navy off the coast of Ukraine? What happened to them again? Oh that’s right, drones and missiles sank a dozen of their ships and they had to completely withdraw from the area.
If drones and missiles are making it through air defense systems and hitting terrestrial bases hundreds of miles away, then ships tens of miles off the coast are even more vulnerable.
