Furthermore, there are numerous instances of ill treatment of both American and German soldiers during WWII, but for the most part it was civil and dignified, especially when the capturers were Heer and not Waffen SS, but the truth is for the most part the captured solder was treated well or at least by Geneva convention standards.

The exception's to this were in the Russian theater and in South East Asia.
