I think there should be no pointing at all. PM or PF sets/selects/engages anything on the MCP, announces what he did, both pilots verify on their own FMA.
Oh I see what you're saying. You're right, on both the "set bottom altitude" and "set missed approach ' calls, everyone indeed points to the MCP and not the FMA. For mode changes though, everyone points at the FMA. But yes you've got a great point...
