Other airlines make some pretty bad choices and they are losing money.. in JB's terms.. an incredible ton. I'd be worried if I was working there. A large downturn in the economy because of a war... well.. look who went under in 1990-91..

Would I prefer the base 30 minutes from my house have WB flying? Sure.. but Networks put the airplanes where it's most profitable and apparently this base is not it.
I agree it’s out of our hands. But I maintain that we will see a BOS NB base, perhaps even two, within the next 3ish years or sooner.

Whatever JB is doing or not WRT their financial performance, they would be way worse off if they closed either their NYC or BOS pilot domiciles. NYC is mission critical to them and BOS is their absolute crown jewel because it’s one of the best domestic markets anywhere and they wisely ran a pick six when Leo dropped the ball and built the Taj Mullin and abandoned an entire terminal for them to walk in and dominate.

The profit differential between DL and JB has almost nothing to do with DL not having a NB BOS base. It would probably save money and increase reliability a little for DL to have one however there will be some small first year costs associated with a new category however it’s a bit less since the base is already open. But to point to the profits of DL and JB to imply that not having a BOS base for DL is a significant part of that is just silly.
