Seriously doubt UAL gets approval to buy B6 unless they give up a ton in the NY area.
UAL isn't buying Jetblue. Their partnership gives UAL a bunch of permanent JFK slots which they will use to fly LAX and SFO premium service transcons. With United getting 250 deliveries in the next 2 years (almost 50 of them 787s) that's like acquiring a Jetblue without having to take on $8B+ in their debt and all their other network issues. Also United management said reconfiguring their fleet to match United would not be possible because our seat suppliers can barely handle our current fleet upgrades as well as new planes.

I don't think anyone is buying JetBlue but if Southwest wants to do it then go for it.
