I'm with you to an extent on the iPad thing. I don't use it for anything other than an EFB, no personal apps, no banking, etc... I'm not as worried about turning it off at work, then again, I sit SC in base and I'm not that worried that they know my iPad is sitting at my house. As far as the scrutiny, no matter how much someone cries victim, I'd wager that if we dug into it, we'd see that the individual gave them a long list of reasons to do so.
Like Ancam said above, if they really wanted some data from the Hilton, they're going to get it.
