Congrats on joining SWA!

You'll get lots of opinions here. Everybody has different things they like. I can't stand sweaty ear cups and weight on my head, so I use and really like my Clarity Aloft. Other guys hate things in their ears, so they prefer the over-the-ear types. Nobody -- ok, almost nobody -- prefers the Telex headsets. Their noise reduction is very minimal, and our cockpit is loud. I had to use a Telex 850 on a couple of trips while my Clarity Aloft was getting repaired, and I'll call in sick before I ever do it again.

Whatever headset you pick, just please turn off your interphone switch when you aren't talking. Ours is a fully manual system (no VOX) -- turn it on, and it'll amplify everything going in and coming out of your mouth until you turn it back off. Unless you're wearing a Telex, and then only the other guy will hear it because all you hear is wind noise.
