100%. The notion that somebody insisting on doing something generous means they have control issues is crazy. I don’t doubt that a few could be that way, but they are certainly outliers and most people are just trying to be nice.

To place “control freak” as one of the more plausible/likely explanations is to really, really, overthink this.
