$5,000 a day is pretty good pay… Reality kicks in pretty quickly… That is if they have to pay for your CFR 61.58 recurrent for a light jet. Now, if you are a contract pilot on a G650 type, let say… they’ve got to get a lot of days to cover the nut of that recurrent training. Let’s not forget the taxes as a 1099 employee too.
