honestly besides the old adage of RONs I have no idea how they pick a base but id think 1 runway would limit the ability to expand, therefore, if it's not already a base why make it one since it can't expand much more.
Meanwhile over at STL and MCI we have two shuttles going to the airport almost every time I overnight there.
But yes, I agree. No more bases
