AA isn't as bad, but they have a whole lot more of it... an industry hiccup at the wrong time would see billions flying out the door in short order.
Admittedly I don’t want it for seniority purposes—flew with way too many 23 year old FO’s at OO fresh of OE with CJOs to Hawaiian while I had my dream CJO at AA. I’d probably get shafted at least a few hundred seniority numbers.
The article from Bloomberg specifically quotes, “shared revenue” proposal, not merger.
I will admit the merger would create one hell of an opportunity for explosive WB growth. You’d have LAX-SFO-SEA as a gateway to the pacific. Under the right management team it could be something special.
