Im not arguing your perception of this guy as a weird dude. He may have been. Also, he might have just been sick of talking to you. Maybe his wife just left him?

What do you mean it's none of your business? You and the FA's all tipped the van/bus driver but this person did not? That's not normal behavior. $2 is pocket lint for a Delta Pilot. Even one on first year pay. I could understand an new hire FA not tipping, but they do. I've seen it. It's a social construct and it's part of normal behavioral patterns.

Even in Europe where tipping waitstaff is not required, we tip the van/bus drivers. When 11/12 people are doing it, something is not like the others, and there is usually a good underlying reason for that.
