I dunno, I kind of side with HK. I get it’s a job. But we’re all in it together and it’s good for pilot camaraderie to hang out a little under ideal hangout circumstances (cool crew, cool overnight).

It’s super unusual to slam click on an international rotation. When I was a WB B, I think the number of times all 3 pilots didn’t go out together was twice. Once was when the Captain had his wife with him and they did their own thing, and the other was a
very well known insufferable-type FO who got ditched a lot.
Makes me wonder if HK’s case was a post-Covid hire who got super lucky and went straight to a WB, and so doesn’t have the cultural norms as engrained? 🤷♂️
