Finally got to experience my first Gen Z FO. Pretty rare in my fleet...
Didn't tip the bus driver....heck, even all the F/A's did and they make 1/16th of what he's pulling in. Offered to go to dinner. Declined - no biggie, but our language speaker had made reservations for all of us at a very cool, out of the way local place. It was fantastic BTW. All of us (minus 1) had a superb evening.
Met up for the van to head out and asked him if he did anything cool or interesting on the LAYO. He said he played video games.....ok, yeah, well..... Dude, life is too short, get out and enjoy it while still vertical.
Yet he figured out early how to chillax on a WB to be fed and rest while collecting bank early in his career. Smart guy. How HE uses HIS time doesn't matter. The weekly family gathering tradition is dead. I will be glad for it if (probably never) I go back to WB LH flying. It was a result of being stuck together in the situation, now there are soooo many ways to research and plan things to do on your own prior, even join a gaming tournament from anywhere on the planet when it starts. Not a gamer but I have high school and college kids, web life is a thing.
