Our airline does allow flying on the side but you MUST get it approved and they demand that your side flying not interfere with your obligations to SKW (when you're on call you belong to SKW including your 30/100/1000 or 34/120/1200 hours). But if can be done as it has been done.
As for your other question, it varies. If you’re on reserve one month you might fly 5 hours and the next 30 and the next 80 but if you hold an RJ line I’d expect an average of 950+ or so per year, if an EMB line you’ll be around 1050+ or so.
Max Reg. block per year:
RJ = 1000
EMB = 1200
