JFC, it's $2. It's not like they're asking for your first born or something.
I won’t pretend to speak for my(admittedly awesome ) generation, but as an ancient millennial I assure you it is not about the money. It’s about the generational difference in carrying cash. Absent local currency in foreign lands where credit isn’t widely accepted, I use cash for nothing. Literally nothing. Except these damn van driver tips. I do it out of tradition (2 bucks a leg, 5 if it’s over a hour) but I admit it annoys me. To get 1s or 5s I have to drive all the way to the bank (15 min each way) then wait in line, then drive home all the way home.

That’s time away from my family on my days off and for what? Van tips need to get with the modern era. Hell, I’d pay 10 bucks a leg if I could do it by Venmo and spare the trip to the bank. For the older generations, carrying cash is NBD and tip money can be had in change. But for us it’s absurd, we don’t deal in cash and have to make special trips on our downtime just so Joe from FSD gets two bucks in hard currency.

TLDR: It’s not the money. Like at all. Times change, just hang a damn sign with your Venmo and be done with it.

BTW HK, just missed millennial 350A last bid. If you do decide to bid SEA, drinks are on me.
