Let them try and hire their way out of this mess. I think it'll take more than they're projecting. I don't see that as wasting our leverage, that's a pretty great use of our leverage. And the underlying issue will still be there so if they want to shortstaff us again, the problem will kick back in.
If they do want to get rid of it, they'll pay for it, whether it's soon in a quick contract or later after a drawn out negotiation.
The worst we can do is trade it for pennies because of oil may spike (and go back down), UA is getting close to our massive profits (when the two companies are almost all the US industry's entire profits), 23M7 disruptions might be kind of alleviated by growing our seniority list by over 10%, etc.
