UA bought a ton of planes. There is no place to grow physically with gates and landing slots. They are flying to Mongolia and Greenland with NBs. I don't see how they make money with that kind of flying.
Problems at our company are internal and controllable once some changes are made. Why they have not gutted DBMS, and come up with a complete replacement and entire new section 23 in our PWA with enough $$ and QOL improvements for us to agree to it is beyond me. Maybe they just really like paying people lots of money to not work.
200+ cancellations so far today. Not for weather. This has got to have the attention of people that make decisions
Mongolia and Greenland, along with the rest of the Europe flying done on NBs are very profitable. It’s the reason they launched additional routes to secondary cities on the NBs. This was also the plan from the beginning. UA is about being big in secondary cities, big markets, but also the region.
Kirby also said that EWR being slot controlled was a positive. UA owns a ton of slots and now the operation runs more reliably at EWR than competitors in LGA/JFK.
UA plans on opening another base or two because of the amount of deliveries being taken on. Management is aware and are planning accordingly. I hope it’s AUS just so Ripin can glitch and lose it lol
